Name That Group!!!

Not just any group, my group of demonstrators!  We are encouraged to name our teams for Stampin' Up!® but I've been having trouble coming up with the "right" name.  I've come up with one possibility but hope that some of you are more creative than I.  So, I'm offering a contest to my customers and downline to name my group!  If you come up with the winning entry then I'll buy you your choice of a $19.95 stamp set!  Just email me your name suggestions by February 15th which is when the contest ends.  I'm hoping one of you will be able to help me!

Here are some suggestions to get you started:

  1. I'd love a clever name, something that says "Just Do It" but using stamp lingo.

  2. Ideally the name should be able to used as a nickname - so if the team name is "The Pink Ladies" a demonstrator in my group might refer to herself as one of the Ladies.  Hopefully that makes sense.

  3. Some words that I've jotted down that you could incorporate are:  Star, Dream, INKpressions, pINK, INKredible, etc.

That's it!  Just email me your entry by February 15th and I'll announce the winner on this site once the name is approved by Stampin' Up!  If there are no exact winners in the contest then I'll award the prize to the one who inspires what I actually use.  Or, if I go with my original idea then I'll draw one winner from everyone who emails me with a possible name!  Good luck and thanks for your help!

Leadership was Awesome!

WOW!  I just returned home from the Stampin' Up!® Leadership Convention in Houston and it was awesome!  If you're already on my newsletter list you read about the exciting things coming for new Demonstrators who join my team through the end of February!  Keep an eye on my calendar for group meetings and an opportunity night that you can attend to find out more.  Or, just email me with your questions!

Cowgirl The theme of Leadership this year was "Get Connected" and honestly my favorite part of the whole weekend was catching up with the friends I've met during the last year and a half, both teammates and demonstrators from other groups.  Here is a photo of me with one of the Stampin' Up! staff - I attended the Manager's round-up on Friday night which was awesome!  At the round-up I rode a Mechanical Bull and sat on a real Texas Longhorn!  It was so much fun!  I'm looking to attending next year's Leadership in Sunny California - what a great place to visit in January!

Beautiful Background Stamps

Img_4149 Here’s a great idea to help you with your stamp storage!  Instead of labeling the boxes for your background stamps, why not use the labels on the sides of the stamps themselves?  Then, you can line them up on your bookshelf like books so they’re more readily accessible and take up less storage space.  Plus, you can use the stampin’ store containers they are normally stored in for other uses, like storing cut cardstock, scraps, Stampin’ Around® ink cartridges, you name it!  By the way, I love this dotted background stamp!  It reminds me of the background on a bag of M&M's!  check it out the next time you're at the store!  Img_4152_1

Jen's Stamp Room

Img_4147I’m sometimes asked what my stamp room looks like, well, I stamp in my basement.  It’s great because I can be messy down there and nobody cares.  So, I’m using glitter and it’s going everywhere – who cares!  .  Here’s a photo of my main work table with inkpads, ribbon, markers and lots of other accessories just within reach.  I also have lots of samples (including a photo box of favorite cards) here for inspiration!

There is a four drawer cart to the left of the table which is where I store my punches, crimper, adhesives and other things that would just clutter up my table.  I also have a small box of scraps within an arm's reach.  Scraps are great for figuring out color combinations, experimenting and adding little pieces to your projects!  When I first started stamping I saved everything!  Now, I only save the big scraps and there is another box next to my garbage bin to recycle other scraps, the backs to my SNAIL® refills and other paper and plastic items.  I did have to go buy a clock to hang above the table though because I was staying up way too late stamping and having a hard time getting up in the morning!

Really, all you need to have a “stamp room” is a table and some storage for your stuff and you’re all set!  I would recommend that you get some cardstock storage to start and then add an inkpad caddy, stampin’ stacks and ribbon storage as you get more supplies.

Check out this Cardstock!

Img_4153_1Look at all this great cardstock!  Can you tell what colors my swaps for Leadership and January party projects will be??  I am definitely a paper person and I love it when I get a delivery from Stampin’ Up!© filled with lots of colorful goodies!  On this order I also got the Starstruck stamp set that I’ve been eying since I was named a Stampin’ Up!© Rising Star last summer!
