Simply Adorned Charms
So, on Tuesday you saw the Simply Adorned bracelet charms that I had made, here is a Simply Adorned Rectangle Charm that I did for a necklace. This charm was also inspired by what was shown on stage at Leadership and I just love how it turned out! I changed my colors to match the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and used Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Orchid Opulance. The initial is from the Wild West alphabet (IBC p. 152), the word is from Tiny Tags (Occasions Mini p. 28) and the leaves are from Vintage Vogue (Occasions Mini p. 26).
I stamped everything in Craft ink and embossed with a mixture of about 2/3 Clear and 1/3 Iridescent Ice embossing powders. I like this mixture because it gives the smooth finish of clear but has just a little bit of sparkle!
The rhinestone is from the Eggcellent Eggs kit - it has a whole sheet of little rhinestones that are so much fun! Use your poker tool to pick them off the rhinestone sheet and apply them to your project. Enjoy!
All of the new demonstrators who join with me directly during Sale-A-Bration will receive a similar set of inserts for their own charms from me once their first order is placed! Ask me for more information about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and joining my team of W.O.W. Stampers!!

Simply Adorned Bracelet
These two charms are from the new Stampin' Up! Simply Adorned line. They are the 5/8" Circle and Square Charms. I took my cues on what to do with them from some charms that Shelli Gardner showed at Leadership this year but customized them to what I wanted them to say and the colors that I used.
I started with the Cottage Wall designer paper. You might remember that this was the same DSP that inspired my swaps for Leadership. Then, I used the Tiny Tags and vintage Vogue stamps to come up with the little designs.
These little charms are perfect for markers so you can get just a letter or word and not an entire stamp. I used craft ink almost exclusively for these and then embossed with a mixture of clear and Iridescent Ice embossing powders. Then I punched the circle out using a 1/2" circle punch and cut the square using my paper trimmer to 1/2" square.
Don't you just love this little crown? I have some ideas with that stamp but that's going to have to wait for another day! Enjoy and come back soon to see the matching necklace.

Finished Journal
This is my finished journal that I made for Leadership Conference! I just love how it turned out! The paper is Lovely Flowers, it uses the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, Chocolate Chip epoxy brads and the letters are Chipboard Lots of Letters!
A note about the letters, typically I like to use a sanding block on the edge of journals and chipboard elments. I started to do this with these initials but the corners are so tiny that I ended up cutting up an emery board and getting into the edges. Just a tip if you're using these letters like I am. Of course, you could always smush some craft ink onto the letters and emboss which is really easy but I wanted them in the same Crushed Curry as the paper.
And did you notice how I used one of the Sweet Pea Felt circles as the dot above the "J"? I thought that looked really sweet! I attached the letters with glue dots but just used dimensionals on the felt and they worked great. Enjoy!

Sometimes a Messy Stamp Table is a Good Thing!
Well, I'm back from Leadership and am caught up again! I thought I'd post some photos from a project I was working on for the trip. This is a photo of my kitchen table as I was prepping for the trip. The swaps were done and I was starting my journal. For those who know me, I make a new journal for every Stampin' Up! event that I attend to take notes in (and they look so pretty all stacked up together).
This year for Leadership I wanted to use the new Sweet Pea stitched felt. So, I got those out (and put them into a tin for easy storage) and started to play with DSP, ribbon and other elements.
I settled on the Lovely Flowers paper for my base, this DSP is available through the Lovely Flowers bundle which is a level 3 hostess set. This paper uses Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Old Olive. Even though the colors weren't an exact match (Sweet Pea uses Rose Red instead of Melon Mambo) it was close enough that I knew it would work. I started playing and really like the result! I also incorporated Sending Love epoxy brads in Chocolate Chip. Come back tomorrow to see how the finished product turned out!

Leadership Displays
Check out these great and super cute displays at Leadership this year! Don't you just love the super cute bird shopping bags and the new card tree? They even have cute flip flops that when you walk in the sand with them they will leave the words "Stampin' Up!" in the sand. How stinkin cute is that?!?

Stampin' Up! Leadership Swaps
Just a quick post to share my swaps for this year's Stampin' Up! Leadership Convention. This card was inspired by the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper (IBC page 160). It uses Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Orchid Opulence.
The stamps used are Fifth Avenue Floral (IBC p. 98) and the Medallion background stamp (IBC p. 133). I've had this great background stamp for awhile but hadn't used it and I have a feeling that we'll be seeing a lot of it in my stamped creations in weeks to come! If you like this card then look for me today and I'll be happy to swap with you!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2009 Awards
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful team of WOW Stampers! Here I am onstage at the Stampin' Up! Convention 2009 getting recognized for my Leadership of them (I'm on the right). I love stamping, holding workshops and recruiting but most of all I enjoy helping my downline acheive their dreams through coaching and training and that's why I was honored with this award!
Thanks to my wonderful downline for all that they do!

Come to the Best Stampin' Up! Party of the Year!
If you love stamping, scrapbooking and spending time with HUNDREDS of other women who have the same interest then you should consider joining us for convention! Convention this year is in Salt Lake City and this summer will kick off the start of the 20th anniversary of Stampin' Up! Convention takes place at the end of July and is a great party filled with stamping, project ideas and fun! Plus, you'll be one of the first to see the new 2008 Fall-Winter catalog!
If you'd like to join us for this you will need to become a demonstrator and then you can register and attend! Registration starts on May 6th so your best bet is to join by the 5th so you can sign up with the rest of us on the 6th! If you're interested in attending and/or in becoming a demonstrator be sure to email me with any questions about how much fun we have together before you jump in!
This is me with some of my downline and sidelines at last year's convention with Stampin' Up's President Dale Fillmore. We had a great time in our PJ's at the Pajama-Stamp-A-Rama last year!!

Convention Projects
Yesterday I talked about my presentation at Stampin' Up's convention. Well, here are a few additional samples. This first sample is a journal I did and the flowers are some of the new chipboard available. I embossed the chipboard with two layers and then created this fun journal!
This next sample is a scrapbook page that I did using the same technique. This is my sister and I onboard the MS Zuiderdam on the Stampin' Up! cruise to the Panama Canal last April!
There are many more photos from my convention presentation in my Art Gallery, in the Convention Presentation Folder. Enjoy!!
One Crazy Summer
Wow, what a summer this has been! You may have noticed that I haven't been posting as much this summer, well, it's been crazy!! I am definitely looking forward to a busy fall but returning to a more relaxed pace!
So, what have I been up to this summer? Well, last spring Stampin' Up! asked me if I would present at our annual convention in late July. Of course I said yes! What an honor!! I did what is called a Workshop Wow and talked about how heat embossing is always a Wow! Since convention was a week after the new Harry Potter book came out, I tied my presentation in - my heat tool was my magic wand and well, you can see how much fun I had by the photo!
I even came up with a new technique for my presentation called Faux Cracked Glass. Watch for a tutorial later this week on how to do Faux Cracked Glass! In the meantime, you can at least see the finished product! We'll be doing Faux Cracked Glass at my stamp clubs this week so if you're interested in learning how, just email me to come learn!
While backstage at convention, we had a little bit of fun! One of the Stampin' Up! staff came on stage early in the first day in a silver sequined jacket. Well, we found the jacket and as a scrapbooker, I had to have a photo op!
So, obviously the summer was spent with things other than stamping. While in Denver for convention, I got to meet my sister's new puppy, pictured here. I also spent a little time in Wisconsin enjoying sunset cruises and what I call the land of plenty. For the most part it was a good summer but I'm ready for fall and to get back into my stamp room!

I Really Do Have a Green Thumb!
Well, at least from stampin'!! I spent some time earlier today working on some of my projects for my convention presentation. While I can't post them here until after convention is over, I can definitely show you the result and that is one very green thumb! Want to take some guesses on what I'm working on?

More about my trip to Canada!
Here is a photo from the Stampin' Girls Convention that I attended in Canada two weeks ago. I have a previous post with more information but wanted to share this photo of us! That's Josee Smuck on the left, the leader of the INKredible Canadian group, Vicki Garrett, the truly talented guest artist is in the middle and I'm on the right. You'll notice that I got to be an honorary Sparkle Daisy Stamper for the day and love the pin!!
Also while in Canada we went to the Tulip Festival which was great fun! We learned how to write our names in Japanese, saw beautiful downtown Ottawa and spent the lovely day outside. Here is a photo of my hosts, Josee, Dave and their daughter Hailey.
I thought this was a really fun photo too! After Josee and I wrote our name in Japanese we had a little fun with a photo op!
Check back soon for more of my stamping adventures from the Panama Canal Cruise!!

Home from Canada!
Wow, I had an awesome time last weekend up in Ottawa, Canada! My friend Josee asked me to be the guest speaker at her Stampin' Girls convention - an event she held for her downline. I spoke at both her Friday night Leaders event and at the general session the following day. There were so many talented and friendly demonstrators there and I enjoyed meeting them and making some new friends! I'm looking forward to a reunion with the girls who will be attending the Stampin' Up! convention in July!
I was also very lucky to meet Vicki Garrett who was the guest artist for the weekend. Vicki has some amazing artwork and ideas! She demonstrated two techniques using watercoloring, one with the Stampin' Write markers and the other with the watercolor crayons. She's posted the tutorials for both of these techniques on her blog and I highly recommend that you check out her artwork and samples! Thank you Vicki for sharing with us - you are an amazing artist!
